Fall :)

Fall and Why I Love It

I've always been a "spring girly" not too cold, but not too hot. Honestly, fall has turned into one of my favorite seasons. It is not too hot, but not too cold. I love how the sunsets are easier to see now that the sun goes down earlier and how the leaves change. Recently, the leaves have changed but there are always a couple trees on certain blocks that are a little more "matured" in their leaf change than the others. I love how these trees stand out, their fiery orange leaves next to the green ones in front of a bright blue sky. It's really amazing. Also another thing that has happened recently is that the fall weather has been very skewed. Some days it almost reaches 80 degrees while others barely reach 50 degrees. I think these differences in temperatures are funny because once I "get used" to the colder weather, it's hot again. I like it when it's cooler especially since I'm naturally warm but I like to wear pants and a sweater. Leggings and a hoodie to be more specific.
Fall also brings lots of fun traditions around. First off, I can't forget the pumpkin and fall-flavored drinks that appear on Starbucks and Dunkin's menus. The pumpkin cream cold foam from Starbucks? Oh my god, it's amazing. I wait all year for the pumpkin to come around. With the colder weather approaching, pumpkins and apples become in season and are ready to be picked. Pumpkin carvings and a side of apple pies are near. Also don't forget to cook the pumpkin seeds after carving. So yummy! I went to an apple orchard today with my Mom, sister, and her boyfriend. It was so fun to just walk the rows of apples and pluck them off their trees. The apples were so good and the day we went was so beautiful outside. Perfectly cool enough to wear a long sleeve and jeans. I also just love how "fall-ish" everything becomes. Leaves are scattered on the floor, scarecrow decor is put up, fake pumpkins are appearing on countertops and hay bales are suddenly all over the place.
The last and maybe most important thing about fall is the holidays that are included but also the ones that are shortly after. Once October hits, it is spooky season which means scary movies, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, and much more. I think it's so nice that everyone collectively loves the fall and the vibe it brings. No one can say they hate fall and if they do they're lying. But, anyway, Halloween is coming up and I'm very excited. Like Lady Heron said from Mean Girls, "Halloween is the one time a year a girl can dress like a slut and no one can say anything about it." I love that quote and for the first time this year I'm dressing up and not going trick or treating so I'm excited about that. After Halloween comes Thanksgiving where everyone just eats a ton of delicious food and has a bunch of laughs which I'm also very excited about. Then the next day while people are still food hungover, they attack each other over "crazy good deals" at your local Walmart. Then everyone dreads the cold months after Thanksgiving but Christmas and Hanukah are right around the corner.
