Fall Break
Fall Break
I'm really excited for fall break and this upcoming week in general. I get to hang out with my friends over the weekend, go to a Bulls game with my best friend, have Friendsgiving, then Thanksgiving, and then another Thanksgiving in Indiana with my family. It seems super busy but I know that I'll enjoy seeing my friends and family over the next week.
For Friendsgiving, we have it at my friend Anette's house every year and everyone is super generous in what they bring to dinner. This year we're bringing food that starts with the letter of our first name. So, I'm planning on bringing ravioli and I was also thinking about bringing some type of raspberry dessert but I'm not sure yet. Also, my friend Annette always is so thoughtful when she sets up her house for us. She sets the tables with nice napkins, silverware, and fancy plates. Then we eat the food buffet or "pass it around style" and it's always super fun. Now, with everyone being away at different colleges it'll be nice to catch up with everyone and see how college is treating them. Although I'm sure we'll talk about more than just college it'll be nice to see everyone together again.
Afterwards, I'll be at my house for my family's Thanksgiving and I'm excited for my sister to cook. She makes really good Mac n cheese and also candied yams. We just make a ton of food for like six to eight people so then we have leftovers for days. But, this year we may have more than just my immediate family. I really like it when close friends or boyfriends come to the house because it just gives a sense of a bigger family which is super fun.
Lastly, I'll be driving four hours to see my family that lives in Indiana. I'm very excited to see my little cousins and work the farm with them. I always get some type of chores to do with them like get chicken eggs or feed the cows so it's a fun change from my very suburban life. I'm also excited about my Nana's cooking she makes really good... everything and then my Aunt Jacqueline makes the best mashed potatoes because she loves to heavily butter and salt them. The day after my Nana will usually take the leftover Turkey and make the best soup with it. Like chicken noodle but ten times better with turkey.
