First Pic at NCC
I took this photo on the first night of welcome week. This picture was taken in 0.5 which means “zoomed out” in todays terms. I like the different colors from the lights (blue and purple). The lights add a more fun, colorful vibe. I also think the foam and people in the foam in the background shows people just having fun. This image is raw and unedited. I didn’t want to take out anything in the background because I felt like it adds to the picture. I also like how this picture is because the subject (Maddy and I) are dead center and are the focal point.
This picture was taken the first night of welcome week. That morning I was leaving my house to come to campus and my mom said: “Take lots of pictures!”. She even texted a reminder to my dad and I as we drove to NCC. I was so nervous to come to campus. I thought I was going to make no friends since I was commuting. When I walk into a room with my future lacrosse team. There were a lot of unfamiliar faces and uneasy vibes. I did recognize one girl what that was my age. Maddy (in the picture) was my familiar face. I had met her 2021 during club lacrosse we knew each other very briefly.
The picture is my favorite because I feel like this was the beginning of my era here at NCC. This captured where and when I started to really enjoy NCC. It’s more meaningful than just a selfie which I think is really cool. Since this picture Maddy and I have been together almost every single day. I hope in the future Maddy and I can look back on this picture and say “Wow, look at us so young.” And reminisce on our first day as students of NCC.
