Challenges & Experiences

Challenges

Honestly, I haven't had too many challenges yet during my time here. The most challenging part is driving to and from school. Sometimes I have to be at practice or lifts at 6 or 7 AM. But other days I don't even have to be here until 1:45. Driving home also isn't fun. I've been staying on campus until like 1 AM almost every night which is fun until I have to drive thirty minutes home. But, having driving be my biggest challenge is so worth it. I've made some really close friends that I'm really happy to have. I also am challenged with not having a dorm. Not yet, I'm planning on moving on campus soon which I'm super, super excited about. I won't have to wake up extra early, I'll be able to just have a chill day and shower here after practice.

Experiences

During the last couple of weeks I've made so many new memories, some that I will definitely remember for the rest of my life. I won't elaborate too much but, it was definitely a wild night helping a friend out. I'm also like pretty pleased with the food on campus. I do enjoy the free meals on J Lawn and I try to go to as many events as I can so I can be around people and join the community while being a commuter. Pictured above on the left was a pretty good meal, it was free so it was good. Also Kman, Card Corner and The Cage are really good. A good little bagel sandwich from Card Corner is such a vibe. Bacon, egg and avocado on a asiago bagel, mark my words, will never miss (pictured on the right). In the middle is a picture of a little event my friends and I went to where we Tye-dyed shirts with water guns. The shirts didn't turn out good to be completely honest, but the experience was fun. I think there was also free ice cream and Italian Ice.
I also think I have been super studious because I've been dedicating hours outside of class to do my homework and assignments which I'm super proud of myself because I don't remember when I actually put so much effort into school. So I think this is a turning point for me and I have a really good group of friends that will come study with me to keep me company but also keep me focused. I hope that I can continue with these good habits because they're making me a better student. However, no matter how much time I put aside I am a super-procrastinator. I'm writing this the day it needs to be submitted. So, usually my work gets done but it's always completed right before it needs to be done. I definitely need to manage my time better but, it's a learning. experience and I'm getting better. I also have an upperclassman on my lacrosse team who is helping the underclassmen with their time management and goals. I think this interaction has helped me get on track and want to stay on track.
